Who this case is for

Manufacturers and distributors of industrial products who have had a website for years and published plenty of articles, but get almost no new customers from Google.

This case shows that an old domain, good content and a technically sound setup are not enough if the pages do not tell Google what you sell, and the articles target terms almost nobody searches for.

There is a checklist at the end that B2B website owners can use on their own site right away.

We do not name the company, its product brands or competing websites.

1. A siren light manufacturer asked us for a free website audit

The company makes siren warning lights under its own brand, and distributes remote controls for hoists and cranes as well as industrial safety equipment from several other brands.

The site runs on WordPress with Elementor and has 104 pages in the sitemap: pages, articles, project pages and product pages. The domain was registered in 2008, making it 18 years and 3 months old on the day of the audit.

This was a 9-page Mini Audit. The goal was not to list every issue a tool can find, but to point out the real bottleneck. We used 4 data sources:

  • Every URL in the sitemap: all 104 pages, checking H1s, page titles, meta descriptions, images and internal links
  • Ahrefs, Thai market: keywords, links and competitor data
  • Lighthouse on mobile: homepage speed
  • Google search directly: the site: command and the search results for the main product terms

2. What we found

Google can see the site, but does not know which terms each page should compete for

~81
Pages Google has indexed, with nothing blocked or penalized
2
Keywords in the top 100, one of them the company name
58 / 104
Pages with no H1, including the homepage, product pages and all brand pages
~78
Monthly visitors from Google (Ahrefs estimate), mostly searching the company name

Every page returned 200 and robots.txt blocked nothing. So the problem was not “Google cannot see the site” but “Google sees it and does not know what it sells,” because almost all the basic signals were missing.

  • 58 of 104 pages had no H1, including the homepage, product pages, service pages, the contact page and every page for the brands it distributes
  • The homepage title was “หน้าหลัก” (“Home”) followed by the company name, so the strongest page on the site was spent on a term nobody searches
  • 57 pages had titles shorter than 30 characters, mostly in the form “Model name - Company name”. People who do not know the model names yet will not find them, and another 9 pages had duplicate titles
  • 838 of 918 images (91%) had no alt text. The product pages for distributed brands had none at all, so product photos did not show up in Google Images
  • All 104 pages told Google they were in English (en-US), even though all the content is Thai

Good news hidden in the same data: the term “strobe light” (700 searches a month) already ranked #9, even though that page had no H1, no alt text and only about 3,300 characters of content. This shows that once the basics are fixed, the page has a real chance to move up without building new links.

76 articles targeting low-demand terms, while the products on hand get more than ten times the searches

The articles are well written, 5,000–7,000 characters long, and based on real knowledge of lifting work and safety. But almost all of them are about “รีโมทเครนไร้สาย” (wireless crane remote), which gets only 70 searches a month.

Monthly searches: terms the site invests in vs. products the company already sells
Ahrefs Thailand, 21 September 2026
รอกไฟฟ้า (electric hoist) · not ranking yet2,800
load cell · has a product page, not ranking yet1,700
ไฟไซเรน (siren light) · made in-house, not ranking yet1,000
strobe light · already ranks #9700
รีโมทเครน (crane remote) · the site's biggest focus150
รีโมทเครนไร้สาย (wireless crane remote) · topic of many articles70
Yellow = terms most of the site's articles target · Search volumes for niche B2B terms in Thailand tend to be slightly under-reported, but the ratios between terms still hold · "ปั้นจั่น" (crane, 5,400) gets more searches, but it is an informational term that suits articles, not sales pages

We are not saying the crane remote articles are bad. This is knowledge the company genuinely has, and every article should stay. But higher-demand product pages should be the main landing pages, with the articles sending readers to them.

The competition is weaker than it looks

Before recommending a shift to new terms, we opened the real search results for “ไฟไซเรน” (siren light) and “รอกไฟฟ้า” (electric hoist) to see how strong the ranking sites were.

"ไฟไซเรน" (siren light) positions 1–3 and 7–8"รอกไฟฟ้า" (electric hoist) sites in Top 10
Dashed line = the company site's DR · For "ไฟไซเรน" (siren light), DR 0 sites hold the top three spots · DR is Ahrefs' link strength score (0–100)

The site’s DR 7 is not a wall. No truly strong site plays in this space yet. What separates winners from losers is which page answers buyers’ questions more directly, and that can be fixed by rewriting pages, not by waiting years to build links.

The raw Ahrefs figure looks good: 629 referring domains. But looking at June–August 2026, 230 of 250 new domains (92%) were flagged as spam. They come from automated link-selling networks with no real visitors, averaging one link per domain.

The report recommended not rushing to act, because Google already ignores these links, and without a warning in Search Console, touching them carries more risk than benefit. Watch whether the volume keeps growing, then decide once there is data to go on.

The lesson: do not judge a site’s health by link count. This site has 629 domains, but a DR of only 7.

Other leaks that weaken the homepage

  • Elementor template pages slipped into the sitemap. The header and footer pages had exactly the same content as the homepage, effectively offering Google 3 versions of the homepage
  • Old pages still sat in Google, such as old blog, product and tag pages no longer in the sitemap, while about 23 pages in the sitemap had not been indexed
  • The homepage had 224 outgoing links, and every page shared the same menu, so link weight was split evenly. The product pages that should lead got no more push than any other page
  • Meta descriptions were below standard: 34 were shorter than 70 characters, 10 pages reused the same text, and the homepage’s ran 484 characters and was cut off mid-sentence in search results
  • Slow on mobile: Lighthouse gave Performance 41, the main image took 9.0 seconds to appear, and there was over 400 KB of unused CSS and JavaScript

What was already done well

The report also credited what was on the right track, because it means the system does not need to be rebuilt.

Item Status
Every page reachable 104 URLs return 200, no broken links
URL structure Short, readable, based on product names
HTTPS and redirects http to https with a correct 301
Structured Data Organization, WebSite, BreadcrumbList and Article on almost every page
Sitemap and robots.txt Clearly grouped and correctly declared
Measurement Google Tag installed via Site Kit
Accessibility / Best Practices 93 / 96 · no layout shift while loading (CLS 0)

The report summed it up: the house is solid and full of good things; what is missing is the sign out front. The work is putting up signs and arranging the shop window, not tearing the house down.

Proposed order of work

Order Work Why first
1 Add H1s to the homepage and main product pages · Change the homepage title from “Home” to text with the siren light and crane remote control terms · Change the site language from en-US to th One fix improves the whole site, done in a single day
2 Pick 2–3 product pages from the siren light and lifting groups and make them truly complete Shows results in search faster than fixing 104 pages at once, and proves what works before investing more
3 Link existing articles to the featured product pages · Remove template pages from the sitemap · Add alt text to product images Sends weight from existing content to the pages that sell
4 Roll out to other pages based on the terms that worked Effort follows real data, not gut feeling

3. Expected results

This Mini Audit does not set monthly target numbers, and what follows is what the report expects, not results that have happened.

  • The strobe light page has room to climb from #9 once its H1, alt text and content are complete, without building new links, and related terms such as “ไฟไซเรน” (siren light) offer the same opportunity
  • Products the company already sells get about 5,500 searches a month combined, compared with about 220 for the terms most articles currently target
  • Results should be reviewed at least 4 weeks after the fixes are done, because Google needs to index the updated pages first. Measuring sooner means little

Google Tag is already installed. Once Search Console is connected, the company will see real clicks and rankings for each page instead of Ahrefs estimates.

This report was just delivered. We will update this case when we have real numbers.

Checklist for B2B sites with lots of content but few visitors

Open your website and answer each item.

Business side

  • Your best-selling product has its own page, and it is the most detailed page on the site
  • You know the words buyers use to search for your products, not model names or industry jargon
  • Every article leads readers to a related product page
  • You do not judge site health by the number of links or pages

SEO side

  • Every page has one H1 that says what the page sells
  • The homepage title contains terms people actually search, not “Home”
  • The site language setting matches the language of the content
  • Product images have alt text
  • No template pages or old pages have slipped into the sitemap
  • Search Console is connected, and you check which pages are not indexed yet

If you cannot tick more than half, the good content on your site is probably not working for you yet.

Questions B2B businesses often ask us

Our domain is many years old. Why are we not ranking? Domain age helps with trust, but Google still needs to know what each page is about. If pages have no H1 and titles have no search terms, there is nothing to rank, no matter how old the domain is.

We already have lots of articles. Should we delete them? No. Articles written from real knowledge are an asset. The work is to add product pages that match high-demand search terms, then have the articles link to them.

We have lots of spam links. Should we disavow right away? Not if Search Console shows no warning. Google usually ignores these links already. Watch the trend first. Disavowing the wrong links is the bigger risk.

Can a low-DR site really compete for product terms? Open the real search results first. In this case, DR 0 sites held the top three spots for “ไฟไซเรน” (siren light). Many niche industrial product terms have no strong sites competing yet, so the page that answers buyers more directly can win.
