Website Redesign Thailand: Modernise Your Site Without Losing Google Rankings — Southern Whale digital service for Southern Thailand

An old website doesn’t have to be thrown away

Owners who want a redesign usually feel the same way: the site looks dated, it’s poor on mobile, and competitors look better. But an old site also holds value you can’t see: pages that rank on Google, links from other sites, and content customers have used to decide.

A good redesign isn’t just a new look. It modernises the site and helps it convert better without throwing away what you’ve built. Southern Whale redesigns websites this way, starting with an audit of the current site every time.

What we check before a redesign

What we check Why it matters
Pages that get Google clicks Their content and URLs must be kept, or 301-redirected to the closest new page
Links from other websites Any page with inbound links must never become a 404
Where visitors drop off Where people leave, and whether the contact button is too far away
Mobile and speed Which pages are slow, have tiny text or hard-to-tap buttons
The current platform Whether to redesign in place or move to another system

For an example of how much a missing sales page can cost, see the B2B rubber factory case.

How we redesign without losing what you have

  1. Design for approval before you pay. We design the key pages first and revise until you’re happy.
  2. If the platform changes, move like-for-like first. Changing platform and design at once makes problems impossible to trace, so we move everything across looking the same, prove nothing is missing, and then redesign.
  3. Revise in rounds, keep every version. You see and comment on each round, and any earlier version can be restored.
  4. 301 every old link. Changed URLs redirect to the closest new page, never everything to the homepage.
  5. Hand over an editable site. An admin your team can use to add content and change images, with a manual.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a redesign and a new website?

A redesign changes the look, layout and user experience while keeping the content, links and data that still have value. A new website starts the structure from scratch. Some sites only need a new design; others are limited by their platform and should move. We check which makes more sense first.

Will a redesign hurt our Google rankings?

Rankings usually drop because URLs change without 301 redirects or important content is removed. If you list every old URL, redirect page to page and keep the content that ranks, rankings can transfer to the new pages. We check Search Console before starting every redesign.

How much does a website redesign cost?

It depends on the number of pages, the current platform, and whether it's a design change or also a platform move. We review the current site, quote a written scope, and design the key pages for you to see before you commit.

How long does a redesign take?

A small or mid-size site with a design change often takes a few weeks; a platform move or a large site takes longer. We work in rounds so you can see and comment at every stage.

Our site is on a website builder. Can you redesign it?

Yes. If the current platform can be adapted, we redesign it there. If it's too limited or closing, we first move it like-for-like and then redesign, as we did for a 1,576-product parts store moving off iGetWeb.
